Tiny Turkey Trot
A Kids Fun Run for ages 12 & under.  This run is not timed, is approximately 200 yards long and will start at 8:20 AM.

 

All Tiny Trotters will receive:
• Short sleeve cotton race shirt
• Finisher medal
• Goodie bag
• A mini pie!
*Pie, medal and goodie bag are given at packet pickup.

 

Tiny Turkey Trot will start/finish at the 5K finish line. Parents are welcome to run alongside their tiny turkeys. Read more about the Tiny Turkey Trot

 

     

    Team Division
    Families and groups of 4 or more receive a discounted entry! To register your family as a team, select the “5K member of a group/team” option when you register.  The fastest three teams win prizes.  The top 4 times, per team, are added together for the team score. Register Your Team Here

    Packet Pick Up

     

    Saturday, Nov 21rd   12PM – 4PM

     

    Tuesday, Nov 24th   3PM – 6PM

    Thursday Nov 26th  8am-10am. We will be in front of Hurts Donuts at the Ward Parkway Center Pavilion for those that were not able to pick up packets. There are two suggested routes you can run from Hurts if you still want to run informally from that location on Thanksgiving morning.

    Timing & Pace
    Look for the pace signs at the starting line and line up according to the pace you’ll run.

     

    Your start time is recorded when you cross the starting line by the chip on the back or your bib. Your time will be accurate, there’s no need to pass people until you cross the start line.

     

    When you register, you will choose one of 3 categories; Elite Runner (8 min pace or faster), Runner (above 8 min pace) or Walker/Non-Competitive.  Elite runners will go out first, then runners over 8 min pace and then walkers and strollers.

     

    Results
    Have updates sent immediately to your phone HERE (and to your family’s phones,) or click the “Manage Updates” link at the bottom of your registration confirmation email.

     

    Be sure to attach your bib correctly. On the FRONT of your shirt, above your waist.

     

    There will be NO “Results” tent at the finish line.  Check your results online here.

     

    Parking
    Parking Map Plan to arrive via State Line Rd. (Ward Parkway will be closed for the race). Parking attendants will be there to direct you.

     

    You won’t be able to drive through the tunnel for the safety of all the runners walking to the start line.

     

    Awards

     

    Thanksgiving Trophies and Themed medal will be given to top 3 male and female finishers. Thanksgiving Day medals will be given to the top 3 male and female finishers in age groups: 9 & under, 10-14, 15-19, 20-24, 25-29, 30-34, 35-39, 40-44, 45-49, 50-54, 55-59, 60-64, 65-69, 70-74, 75-79, 80+

     

    The Awards Tent will be located within the Finish Line Festival area close to the DJ.  If you placed in the top 3 overall or in your age group come to the Awards Tent to claim your medal. If you need to leave before awards are announced, we are happy to give you the award early. Don’t even have time for that? Friends can pick up awards for you.

     

    If you are unable to pick up your award at the race, email info@resultskc.com to let us know you want your award. The RaceDay Events office is a house converted to office space at 208 W 79th St, KC, MO 64114. You can pick up anytime beginning the Tuesday after the race.  Your award will be in a pickup bin in the basement stairwell in the back of the house off the circle driveway. The pickup bins are outside and available to you 24/7 so you can stop by when it is convenient for you with no need to check in with us again.

     

    • Awards given for Best Thanksgiving Themed Costume and top 3 fastest family teams!

     

    Photos and Video
    Look for the photo op area where you will find a backdrop, inflatables and Turkeys, (not the real ones, but some friendly runners in costumes!) Post your photos on social media with the hash tag #KCPieRun. Pictures from the event will be posted 24 hours after the race!

     

    Video of you finishing and finish line photos will be attached to your results on the results page.

     

    Food
    All participants receive a 6 in. Tippin’s pumpkin pie, at packet pick up.

     

    Strollers Welcome
    Walkers with strollers are welcome in the 5K and will start behind the runners so everyone will be safe!

     

    Charity Partner
    Harvesters Community Food Network is our charity partner.  You’ll have an opportunity to donate to Harvesters at registration, packet pickup or on race day. Look for the Harvesters collection bins.

    Refunds
    No refunds will be given for the event but you can choose to switch to the virtual race option if your plans change. Anyone switching to the virtual option should email us at info@resultskc.com.

     

    Refund and Cancellation Policy

     

    Registration fees are not refundable under any circumstance.  Race registrations can be transferred to another participant or to another distance.  Save your login so you can do this yourself.

     

    If this race is cancelled for any reason, all registered participants will automatically become virtual runners. If the race is postponed, all participants will be registered for the new date.   Shirts, medals and swag will be available for pick up.   

     

    Registrations cannot be transferred to another year or another race.

     

    The Race Director reserves the right to modify or cancel the race or course for safety concerns, road condition, permit concerns or natural disaster. Each athlete must accept this risk of their entry fee paid. Registration fees collected are used to develop and produce the event, starting in advance of the race date, including course preparation, race supplies, permits and administration. Every effort will be made to produce a fair and safe event for all participants. Any decision made that impacts the race date or potential cancellation is carefully considered and based on the overall event safety, sustainability and manageability.

     

    If you want to be guaranteed a refund, purchase race insurance for yourself. Travel insurance companies will cover your race registration and any travel costs you might have.

     

    Weather: The event will not be cancelled because of rain, snow or extreme temperature.

     

    If there is lightning, the event will be postponed for a minimum of 10 minutes until no signs of the storm are present. Participants should seek shelter in their vehicles or a nearby building if available. If lightning continues 10 minutes after the scheduled event start, the race will be subject to cancellation.

     

    The race will be canceled in the event of a tornado warning.

    Note: No motorized vehicles, roller blades, bikes or dogs will be allowed on the course as our insurance policy does not cover these. Protection will be provided at all intersections by volunteers or the Kansas City Police Department.
